Immune System
Here are some simple solutions for major changes in your level of strength, energy, and immunity... Support the immune system. There are many essential oils and supplements that can help you accomplish this:
Grapefruit, lemon, lemongrass, and some excellent blends would be Respiratory Rescue and X-Plauge.
Inhalation of essential oils can increase immune function through their ability to stimulate the hypothalamus.
Inhalation of unadulterated essential oils increases blood flow to the brain by 15 percent and brain blood oxygen levels by 25 percent.
Jurassic Green, the green food that provides a rich source of captured light (in the form of chlorophyll) along with a wide range of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and important enzymes encourages healthy blood and supports immune function.

Cleanse the intestinal tract. Some experts say 40 percent of immune system function is found in the intestinal tract in the pirus- patchet. Others say the intestines account for an even greater percentage of immune function. Either way, the colon and liver need to be cleansed of the toxins and accumulated wastes that can sap energy and weaken immune response.

Dr. Christopher's Intestinal Sweep is excellent for this.

Eliminate parasites as part of cleansing the intestinal tract. Parasites compromise immune function by using up nutrients and overloading the system with toxins, leaving the body depleted, weakened and susceptible to infectious disease.

The following herbs, supplements, and dietary recommendations may also be a part of your treatment plan. Although they are widely used for intestinal parasites.

Take small doses of coconut oil, which may not only banish any parasites but also has beneficial effects for your liver. Use herbal remedies such as Wormwood, which can help to expel pinworms and also relieve the symptoms of malaria; black walnut tincture for worms and other parasites; and powdered cloves, which can kill parasitic larvae before they hatch.

Vitamin C,
Echinacea,
Rosemary

Sugar compromises the immune system. Eating sugar actually suppress the immune system, 1 teaspoon lowers your immune system 50% - up to six hours

Avoid contaminated or chlorinated water. Chlorine inhibits thyroid function, interfering with its uptake of iodine and the amino acid tyrosine. This slows down metabolism, circulation, and immune function.

Adding 1 drop of lemon, peppermint, or spearmint to drinking water helps.

Essential oils support the body's natural defenses and aid in maintaining normal cellular regeneration. They're high in antioxidants, are oxygenating, and support every system of the body including the cardiovascular/circulatory system.

Essential oils such as myrtle, lemon, and cypress have been used for centuries for circulatory health. Helichrysum, (Has been studied in Europe for regenerating tissue. Helichrysum supports healthy skin, nerves, and circulation.) Marjoram, Clove, and citrus rind oils (Orange, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Lemon distilled, Lemon press peel, Lime and Tangerine) also support circulation.

Several of the best oils for supporting the heart and veins have been blended together in System Strengthener and Cypress mixed with olive oil make an excellent massage starting at the feet and working up towards the heart.

Magnesium - needed for normal muscle contractions and heart rhythm.

CoQ10 - used by every cell in the body to convert food to energy. But because of their higher demand for energy, heart cells require more CoQ10 to maintain muscle strength.

Digestion This blend is useful for improving digestive function. It is beneficial in digesting toxic material, and for alleviating indigestion, Stomach cramps, upset stomach, Gas, Heartburn.

LGD  (Stands for Liver, Gall Bladder, Digestion) This blend has been recognized medically for aiding the body in cleansing the liver, and building a stronger system, detoxifies lymphatic system, helps when getting off of addictions.

The liver performs over 5,000 complex chemical functions. It purifies the blood and is key in converting carbohydrates to energy. An overtaxed liver can negatively affect our energy, digestion, and skin. Fats and bile within the liver can easily become over-saturated with oil-soluble toxins, synthetic chemicals, and heavy metals.

As toxins build, the liver becomes stressed, resulting in aggravated skin conditions, rashes, fatigue, muscle aches, digestive disturbances, dizziness, irritability, mood swings, and mental confusion.

Digest Aid These bitter and carminative herbs will increase the digestive juices thereby reducing gas, bloating and intestinal cramping. May be used before or after meals.

Tea Tree is revered for its antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial, antiseptic and powerful antifungal properties.  I use it for pretty much all skin issues and since it is one of the essential oils that you can apply neat to the skin (without diluting in a carrier oil like jojoba, sweet almond, grape seed etc.) it is easy to use.
Other uses: Tea Tree is used to treat athlete’s foot, burns, Candida, cold sores, corns, dandruff, eczema, insect bites/stings (or other itches), lice, nail fungus, psoriasis, respiratory infections, ringworm, chicken pox, sore throat, strep throat, thrush, warts, cuts, as an insect repellent

Peppermint is an uplifting and bright essential oil known for its antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and decongestant properties. I find it most useful though when I have a cold or headache.

When applied to the chest during a cold,  peppermint opens and soothes the lungs. For a headache I apply a small amount, diluted in a carrier oil, to my fingertips and massage into the temples. If peppermint oil is a bit strong for you, you can create a mix with lavender to mellow the cooling effects of the peppermint. I’ve used this mix a number of times and it does the trick along with adding the calming benefit of lavender.
Other uses: Peppermint oil is used to treat indigestion, respiratory problems, nausea, fever, stomach and bowel spasms/pain, asthma, intestinal gas and more. It is also a good expectorant. Peppermint oil also contains numerous minerals and nutrients including manganese, iron, magnesium, calcium, folate, potassium, copper, omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin C and Vitamin A.

Lavender is revered for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-fungal, antiviral, antibacterial, diuretic, and sedative properties. I keep it in the fridge (yes, the fridge) for one main reason though: Burns. Lavender, when applied immediately to burns, helps to relieve the pain, stop the burn from progressing, sterilize the area and start the healing process. Keeping it in the fridge adds the benefit of cooling the burn on contact. I’ve used lavender a number of times on minor burns in the kitchen, as have friends, with great success.

Other uses: Lavender is soothing to the emotions and pleasing to the senses. It helps heal abscesses, acne, athletes foot and fungal infections, bruises, sun burns, lice, ringworm, cold sores, cuts, eczema, hives, inflammation, insect bites and stings, psoriasis/rashes, stretch-marks and other skin issues. It is beneficial in reducing aches and pains, cellulite, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, Lumbago, swelling, joint pain, rheumatism, and sprains. When breathed in, it can also help alleviate bronchitis, coughs, colds, congestion, flu, laryngitis, throat infections, whooping cough, and sinus infections among a myriad of other uses.

Warding off Dementia
Since projections suggest that those with Alzheimer's will triple by 2050, any findings that give us tools for the prevention of, or at least delaying of, dementia are extremely welcome. Getting out there and socializing seems to be just as good for the brain as doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku. So all of these should be a part of our cognitive arsenal as we age.

But there is also a health-related component to developing dementia that shouldn't be overlooked. Heart problems are among the leading causes of Alzheimer's; so lowering blood pressure and cholesterol appears to help stave off mental decline. Diabetes also has been implicated in the development of mental deterioration. Studies show that those with type 2 diabetes -- the type related to obesity -- are more than twice as likely to develop Alzheimer's. In fact, one study showed that borderline diabetics had a 70 percent increased risk of developing Alzheimer's, with even higher risk among those who also had high blood pressure.

Insulin problems damage blood vessels in the brain, which leads to memory problems and Alzheimer's disease.
High levels of both glucose and insulin circulating through the bloodstream are highly inflammatory, as if billions of tiny shards of glass were coursing through your arteries under pressure, scratching and scraping the tissue they come in contact with. This damages the delicate lining of artery walls.  In an attempt to repair the microscopic scratches and scrapes in your arteries, your body uses fats and cholesterol to seal and heal them. Layer upon layer of these fats (called plaque) accumulative and can block arteries - or can trigger a blood clot which results in a heart attack or stroke. This is the primary reason 75% of all diabetic fatalities are caused by cardiac arrest, making it the most deadly of all complications.

And abdominal fat has turned out to be a surprising predictor of future mental decline -- separate from overall weight. People who have large midsections in their 40s are much more likely to end up with dementia in their 70s according to a 2008 study from Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. Those who had the most expansive midsections faced more than twice the risk of showing signs of senility as they aged as the leanest.

Keeping your brain healthy in later years obviously requires a multi-pronged attack.
  • Stay active and fit and watch your diet.
  • Incorporate a good full spectrum antioxidant into your daily health regimen,
  • and be sure to use an L-carnosine based formula to protect your brain from the build-up of amyloid plaque, which is strongly linked to Alzheimer's.
  • Also keep mentally challenged through games and puzzles, and get out and socialize as often as you can.
Together, these may be the keys to a long life of mental acuity.

The effect of aerobic exercise on the Body’s Immune System
Every time you exercise, it releases an influx of antibodies as well as neutrophils—a form of white blood cells that help kill invading organisms—and natural killer cells, another type of white blood cell, which help the body destroy both tumors and viruses.

These cells work to boost your body’s defenses. Plus, harmful stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, which tend to repress the immune system and lessen our bodies’ attempts to ward off illness, are lowered when we exercise.

Most adults catch the common cold between two and four times each year, the majority of which happens between September and April. Children average from six to 10 colds a year. All of this lost work time and productivity is estimated to cost the American economy alone approximately $40 billion every year. The health benefits of walking could eventually add up to huge potential savings over time on many levels.
Sugar compromises the immune system. Eating sugar actually suppress the immune system, 1 teaspoon lowers your immune system 50% - up to six hours.

Colds:
Kindergarteners average 12 colds a year, while older kids develop about seven. The cold season runs from September to March, making these the highest risk months. The virus that causes this upper respiratory tract can live for several hours on contaminated objects, such as door handles, books, pens, or a computer keyboard or mouse.

Prevention: Along with frequent hand washing, taking a reusable water bottle to school instead of using the water fountain can reduce kids’ risk for colds and other infections since the parts of the fountain that students touch can become contaminated with germs. If your child catches a cold, teach them to sneeze or cough into a tissue (or the inside of their elbow, if they don’t have a tissue) instead of their hands, so they don’t spread the virus to everything they touch.
