Because of the overwhelming response to Our SALE
on all of our Essential
Oils,
We will be extending it until the 15th of October
It's that time of year . . . Children go
back to school, cold and flu season etc.
Sugar compromises the
immune system. Eating sugar actually suppress the immune system, 1
teaspoon lowers your immune system 50% - up to six hours.
Colds: Kindergarteners average 12 colds a year, while older
kids develop about seven. The cold season runs from September to March,
making these the highest risk months. The virus that causes this upper
respiratory tract can live for several hours on contaminated objects,
such as door handles, books, pens, or a computer keyboard or mouse.
Prevention: Along with
frequent hand washing, taking a reusable water bottle to school instead
of using the water fountain can reduce kids’ risk for colds and other
infections since the parts of the fountain that students touch can
become contaminated with germs. If your child catches a cold, teach
them to sneeze or cough into a tissue (or the inside of their elbow, if
they don’t have a tissue) instead of their hands, so they don’t spread
the virus to everything they touch.
Angelica
Root Essential oil - used for Coughs, Colds, Fevers. For centuries,
Angelica Root has been hailed as the ultimate remedy for all infectious
maladies. Just apply to bottom of feet or a few drops on a piece of
cotton cloth and inhaled through out the day. Other essential oil

Conjunctivitis,
pinkeye is a highly contagious viral or bacterial
infection of the membrane that lines the eyelid and part of the
eyeball. Symptoms include itchiness or a gritty feeling in one or both
eyes, the white of the eye turning pink or red, and a crusty discharge.
Pinkeye is much more common in kids than in adults and can also be
sparked by allergies. Prevention: Teach kids not
to share tissues, towels, washcloths, eye makeup or eye drops with
other people. If your child has allergies, dust and vacuum often to
reduce allergens in your home and close windows when the pollen count is high.
Strep Throat. This
bacterial infection of the throat is most common in kids ages 5 to 15
and can sometimes have serious complications, including rheumatic
fever, which can damage heart valves. Caused by group A streptococcal
bacteria, strep throat strikes in crowded environments such as schools,
with late fall and early spring being the peak seasons. Consider using
- 3 in 1 - This blend was given to
me by a Naturopathic doctor when my daughter came down with 'strep'
throat about 20 years ago. An excellent blend for Strep, Bacteria,
Viruses, etc.
Prevention: Good hand
hygiene and not sharing food, beverages, eating utensils or
toothbrushes are the best ways to avoid strep throat. If your child
catches it, sanitize his or her eating utensils in hot soapy water or
the dishwasher. Get your child a new toothbrush once he or she is no
longer contagious—but still on antibiotic treatment—advises University
of Maryland. Otherwise, the bacteria can survive in the toothbrush and
cause re-infection.
Western Botanicals makes an Herbal
Throat Spray that has worked miracles for many.
Head Lice. More common in girls
than in boys, head lice typically attack kids ages 3 to 12. The tiny
parasitic bugs don’t spread disease and are not a sign of a dirty home.
Prevention: Discourage kids
from sharing hairbrushes, combs, hair ornaments, scarves, ribbons, hats
and other headwear. Avoiding head-to-head contact during play, as
sports and slumber parties curb the spread of lice, I would use Rosemary
or Pest
Away essential oil blend, I would put a few drops in your shampoo.
It would help prevent getting lice.
Molluscum Contagiosum. Although
this skin rash is common in kids ages 1 to 10, many parents have never
heard of it. Triggered by a viral infection,
it causes pink, white or flesh-colored bumps. As the name suggests, molluscum
contagiosum is contagious, mainly through skin-to-skin contact or
contact with contaminated objects, such as clothing or toys. Prevention: Hand hygiene and not
sharing personal items, including clothing, towels, and hairbrushes,
are the best ways to avoid this skin infection, which typically clears
up without treatment in 6 to 12 months. I put a few drops of Vitality
essential oil blend in some Shea
Butter it seemed to help me.
Childhood of
girls being shortened by about a year and a half
Over the last 30 years,
we've shortened the childhood of girls by about a year and a half
according to a study in 2007 it was reported - early puberty for the
Breast Cancer Fund, an advocacy group. The percentage of white girls
showing signs of puberty by age seven has more than doubled in the 14
years since the study came out.
First, there's the problem
of pollution by toxins that affect hormonal systems. The water supply,
for instance, has become polluted with some of the 30,000-100,000
chemicals used commercially in the US, as well as by pharmaceutical
drugs and prescription hormones like HRT, birth control pills, and
growth hormones for farm animals, so it would be especially
concentrated in cheese!
We've written repeatedly about the fact that various toxins in common
use have estrogenic effects, particularly endocrine disrupters like
BPA, which shows up in plastic water bottles,(especially when heated up
in a hot car -which extracts the pollutants from the plastic) baby
bottles, and the lining of many of the canned foods on our shelves.
It's the petrochemical-based xenoestrogens in the environment that
cause the greatest harm. Xenoestrogens are considerably more potent
than estrogen made by the ovaries -- some even potent in amounts as
small as a billionth of a gram. The body can't produce enough natural
progesterone to oppose the xenoestrogens, which leads to a host of
severe health problems, including early puberty as well as increased
risk of cancers, tumors, weight gain, depression, autoimmune
deficiency, and so on.
There has been an astonishing increase in the number of boys born
without fully descended testicals, a condition known as cryptorchidism
6. Still, we don't know all the effects of the toxins our kids
regularly get exposed to, and few children in the developed world are
completely immune, given the similar chemicals in the air, the soil,
our food, and household products.
Studies show a positive correlation between high consumption of animal
protein and early puberty. In fact, the relationship is somewhat
astounding: A recent British study found that girls who ate high
quantities of meat and cheese at age seven were 75 percent more likely
to start menstruating early compared to girls who had the lowest level
of meat and cheese intake. But is that because of the meat itself, or
the hormones fed to the meat to promote growth?
Children under the age of ten or eleven typically aren't ready, either
psychologically or emotionally, for puberty. In addition, early
development puts them at greater risk for various problems, including
increased risk of cancers, drinking, drug use, eating disorders,
behavioral problems and attempted suicide, according to a 2007 report
on early puberty by Sandra Steingraber. And because early puberty means
that girls have estrogen in their bodies over a longer period of time
they are at higher risk for developing breast and uterine cancers.
The solution by some in the medical community, not surprisingly, is
pharmaceutical. Girls can take hormone treatments that slow down their
development. Synthetic hormones to counter synthetic hormones --how
ridiculous can you get!? Of course, such treatments do have certain
risks and side effects, not the least of which is that the residue
could end up in the drinking water supply and have who knows what
effects on future generations.
A healthier solution is to do your best to get off the
pharmaceutical-synthetics merry-go-round. Rather than exposing young
children to yet more drugs, perhaps it makes better sense to emphasize
prevention. In other words, don't let your kids gorge on meat and
dairy. Make sure they get exercise. Use filtration systems for your air
and water. Avoid plastics and synthetics in your house whenever you
can. And if you do all that and your daughter nevertheless needs a bra
by age eight, shower her with love and support and teach her the facts
of life. You might consider using a
natural progesterone cream to balance the potential harm posed by
all that excess estrogen exposure. This step is critical in
counteracting the deleterious long-term effects of exposure to
environmental xenoestrogens that may have triggered the premature
maturation in the first place.
And above all don't allow your girls to be vaccinated with gardasil or
other pollutants - because of the side effects listed below,
"Young girls are experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, temporary
loss of vision and some girls have lost consciousness during what
appear to be seizures, major back spasms, paralysis, dehydration,
memory loss and tremors and may become unresponsive, daily illnesses of
nausea, exhaustion, vomiting, pain and hair loss."

The delicious
sweet and tart flavor of Cherries is matched by
remarkable Health Benefits
Cherries are a rich source of:
vitamin C
potassium
boron, a mineral that plays an essential
role in bone health, especially for women.
Cherries Fight Inflammation
Cherries are important for their ability to control
inflammation. A growing body of scientific research indicates that
inflammation contributes to diseases such as heart disease, arthritis,
and obesity.
Sweet or tart, cherries are a powerhouse of
anti-inflammatory nutrients.
A study from University of California at Davis found
that regular consumption of cherries for 28 days produced a decrease in
biochemical signs of inflammation in blood, including a 25 percent
reduction in C-reactive protein (CRP), the most widely studied marker
of inflammation. Elevation of CRP in blood is associated with an
increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
Cherries Better Than Aspirin for Pain?
According to research done at Michigan State University
the anthocyanins that make cherries red could also help relieve pain
more effectively than aspirin. The study found that anthocyanins were
potent antioxidants that could prevent oxidative damage and also
inhibited enzymes called cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (Cox 1 and 2), which
is similar in the way anti- inflammatory drugs seek to reduce pain. The
study appeared in the Journal of Natural Products published
by the American Chemical Society.
Lead researcher Muralee G. Nair, Ph.D., Professor at
Michigan State University College of Agriculture & Natural
Resources, noted about this cherry effect "It is as good as ibuprofen
and some of the nonsteriodal anti-inflammatory drugs." Nair said that
his lab results indicate that consuming 20 tart cherries could provide
anti-inflammatory benefits.
Finding a natural way to reduce pain is important, given
the serious side effects from common pain relievers called NSAIDs,
examples of which include Advil, Motrin, Aleve and aspirin.
Cherries and Gout
Another study from the University of California at Davis
found that a single dose of cherries reduced the blood level of uric
acid in healthy women. Excess uric acid causes gout, a very painful
type of arthritis. The use of cherries to prevent gout is well
established in Western folk medicine.
You can enjoy the benefit of cherries all year round
with unsweetened cherry juice, unsweetened
cherry juice concentrate, or frozen organic pitted cherries, which
make a delicious snack or dessert.
And don't forget about incorporating anti-inflammatory
foods like cherries into daily life. Here is a cherry recipe from a
book, The Fat Resistance Diet, an anti-inflammatory program
featuring foods that help cut inflammation.
Cinnamon Lemon Poached Pears with Cherry Syrup
2 Ripe Pears
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/8 Cup Chopped Almonds
1 Cup of Water
2 Sprigs of Mint
1 Tablespoon Cherry Concentrate
Peel and core pears. Put pear, water, cherry concentrate, lemon juice
and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cover and simmer for 7-10 minutes or until
fork tender. With a slotted spoon remove and plate pears. Simmer liquid
until syrup is reduced to desired consistency and spoon on pears. Top
with chopped almonds and mint. Serves two.
Remedies Just choose the begining
letter of an ailment to find a remedy that might help!
Don't forget
prayer and listen to your body as you take anything. Remember
that even doctors are only practicing.
God Bless each of you in your quest for health.
