                ANTHRAX BIOLOGICAL WARFARE INFO

     Iraq, Russia and as many as ten nations have the capability to 
load spores of B. anthracis into weapons.   The spores of B. 
anthracis can be produced and stored in a dry form and remain viable 
for decades in storage or after release.  When released, the spores 
are easily dispersed in air for inhalation by unprotected troops (or 
civilians downwind) and may remain in soil for many years. Anthrax 
spores are apparently one of the top choices of weapons for 
biological warfare.

        The following is an excerpt from the U.S. Navy Manual on 
Operational Medicine and Fleet Support, entitled Biological Warfare 
Defense Information Sheet.

"The disease Anthrax is caused by the bacteria Bacillus anthracis. 
Anthrax is normally found in sheep, cattle and horses but can be 
transmitted to humans who contact infected animals or their products. 
Usually humans acquire the disease by skin contact with the bacteria 
or by inhaling the bacterial spores found in sheep wool.

        As an agent of biological warfare (BW), it is expected that a 
cloud of Anthrax spores would be released at a strategic location to 
be inhaled by the personnel under attack. As such, the symptoms of 
Anthrax encountered in BW would follow those expected for inhalation 
of spores, as opposed to those expected for skin contact or ingestion 
of the bacteria. These symptoms are discussed in the sections below."

                        USE OF BLEACH AND WATER

        If you suspect that you've been sprayed with Anthrax, it will 
be all over everything.  The only way to help protect yourself is 
with the use of BLEACH and WATER.  "Disinfection of contaminated 
articles may be accomplished using a 0.05% hypochlorite solution (1 
tbps. bleach per gallon of water). Spore destruction requires steam 
sterilization."

                        INHALATION SYMPTOMS OF ANTHRAX

        I believe, strongly, that any use of anthrax will come from 
an air disbursement of this biological agent.  It could be a small 
single engine airplane, and all the terrorists have to do is fly up 
wind of a major city on a sea coast or large body of water (like the 
Great Lakes), open the window, and open the container that has the 
spores in it, and dump it out.  The wind carrying into the major 
heart and city center, will do the rest. 

        FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS or a CHEST COLD SYMPTOMS

        About 1-6 days after inhaling Bacillus anthracis spores there 
would be a gradual onset of vague symptoms of illness such as 
fatigue, fever, mild discomfort in the chest and a possibly a dry 
cough. You may think you have the "flu" or a "chest cold."  The 
symptoms would improve for a few hours or up to 2-3 days. Then, there 
would be sudden onset of difficulty in breathing, profuse sweating, 
cyanosis (blue colored skin), shock and death in 24-36 hours.

        These symptoms are essentially those of Woolsorter's disease, 
which is caused by inhalation of Bacillus anthracis spores rather 
than contact with the bacterium through the skin. Contact through the 
skin is the most common "naturally" occurring form of Anthrax and is 
characterized by swelling and boils on the skin. Skin symptoms would 
not necessarily be expected with Anthrax resulting from inhaled 
spores in a biological war attack; it would more than likely be 
INHALED.

        Anthrax symptoms have TWO PHASES.  The first set of symptoms 
mirror non-specific flu-like symptoms.

     * fever
     * chills
     * general discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling (malaise)
     * headache
     * nausea and vomiting
     * shortness of breath/breathing problems
     * cough, dry
     * congestion of the nose and throat
     * mild chest discomfort with a non-productive cough that will later, will turn into pneumonia
     * joint stiffness
     * joint pain
     * Loss of Appetite

POTENCY and DOSAGE

        Potency ordered from a homeopathic pharmacy (or, if you buy a 
kit) should be a 30C.  Take these white pellets UNDER your tongue and 
let them melt way.  Do NOT take them with water.  Take every 15 
minutes until you can receive emergency medical help.

        If you cannot get to the hospital.  Take every fifteen 
minutes until the symptoms go away.  When they stop:  STOP taking the 
remedy.

I have listed here the essential remedies to have in case anything happens. After researching the literature it is clear that these remedies make up the overwhelming bulk of what might need to be treated. I have posted this information not to contribute to the general concern of biological terrorism but rather to alleviate it by giving you power over what the future may bring. I know if anything happens I will be using them because I have absolute confidence in the homeopathic experience and effectiveness. 

Recommended homeopathic remedies for Anthrax poisoning:
ANTHRAX POISONING
Symptoms: Might resemble a cold, then breathing becomes difficult so much so that it causes death.

Anthracinum: Hemorrhages, black, thick, tar like, rapidly decomposing, from any orifice. Edema. Ulceration and intolerable burning. Erysipelas. Black and blue blisters. Foul secretion.

Pyrogen: Discharges are horribly offensive. Great pain and violent burning in abscesses. Coldness and chilliness but great heat and profuse sweat.

Arsenicum: Great burning pains. Very restless and great anguish. Fear of being alone with icy coldness of body. Ulcers with offensive discharge. 

Tarentula Cubensis: Burning and stinging pains. Adapted to the most severe types of inflammation and pain. Hot perspiration.

All these remedies can also apply in case of bubonic plague.

Hemorrhagic remedies for ebola or other such conditions.

Crotalus horridus: Spasm of esophagus. Cannot swallow any solid substance. Tight constriction. Purple or dark blood. Purplish, mottled skin and edema. This remedy also applies in case of anthrax poisoning.

Secale: Surface of body is cold and desire to be uncovered with passive dark offensive hemorrhage characterized by slow oozing, dark, thin and persistent and worse from motion.
 

RECOMMENDED REMEDIES FOR SMALLPOX.
Symptoms are: Fever,fatigue, severe headache and backaches; sometimes stomach pain and delirium. Then a rash appears, blossoming into deep disfiguring blisters. 

Aconite. Sudden rise of temperature with high fever, thirst and restlessness are the chief indications for Aconite. 

Belladonna suits the congestive type, with the severe headache, backache and purplish face, a type often seen in young children.

Gelsemium. In the initial stages especially when the aching in the back and limbs with the tight band headache of the disease are present.

Bryonia is also a first stage remedy; it has nausea, severe headache, high temperature. The eruption is slow in coming to the surface and all symptoms are worse by motion.

Antimonium tartaricum: is the nearer similimum to smallpox than any other remedy. Vesication and pustulation are marked. The mucous membranes are involved and bronchitis or broncho-pneumonia are apt to be present, with the characteristic cough and expectoration symptoms. There are excruciating pains in the back. it is especially adaptable to cases characterized by gastric irritation. It also suits cases where the eruption does not come out properly.

Thuja: For those Homeopaths who treated smallpox with success at the turn of the century, this remedy was high up on their lists. It suits especially the eruptive stage, with milky flat, painful pustules upon a dark inflamed area. The pustulation is offensive. 

Hydrastis: Tendency to profuse perspiration especially during the eruptive stage.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Unfortunately, here in the USA we have no "Disaster Plan" by which our national organization or any state-wide homeopathic association has created and implemented so that we could this hand out to you and say: "Follow this." We asked ourselves this very important question: If we were bombed with Anthrax, as homeopaths, what would we do? Here is our answer. Please understand this is what we'd do. This is how we would dose ourselves and our family. We're not telling you that you must do this. And, your homeopath may disagree with it...so go by her/his instructions and directions.

For those who find it impossible to get a hold of a homeopath, this article may be of some help.

POTENCY SUGGESTED: 30C, 1M and 10M

In other words, the top five remedies for Anthrax, Plague, Botulism and chemical release, should be purchased from a homeopathic pharmacy at 30C, 1M and 10M.

A 30C is for someone with a current chronic illness. A 1M is for any child age 0-17 years old. From age 18 + take a 10M, providing you are healthy (more on this below)

WHAT SIZE OF BOTTLE SHOULD I ORDER?

A 2-dram bottle is more than enough for you and your family. There is roughly 100-200 pellets in each dram bottle, and you need only ONE pellet.....but more on this later.

MAKING THE MOST OF THE REMEDY ONCE YOU GET IT

If you have a chemical or biological terrorist attack where you live, a lot of people are going to need these remedies. To make it go further, you can make a DILUTION (fluid remedy). This is sort of like the miracle of the "fishes and loaves of bread" that Christ handed out on the Mount of Olives....they just kept reproducing themselves so that everyone was fed. We can do the same thing with a homeopathic remedy and here is how:

1. Get a 4 or 8 ounce bottle.

2. Fill it half full of a brandy (or alcohol, like vodka) and the other half, water (preferably NOT from city water...distilled is fine).

3. Place 12 pellets of your remedy into it.

4. Cap it. Let is sit 20 minutes. The pellets will dissolve.

5. Gently shake it a few times to mix it. Be sure to label it. Put the NAME of the REMEDY as well as the POTENCY on it, and the DATE you made it. Store in a cool place out of the sun; but it does not have to go into the refrigerator.

6. You can then take one ounce eye dropper bottles and put this 2/3rd full into each one. Cap it. You can hand this out to your family; each member will have their own bottle.

7. A "dose" from a dilution would be FOUR DROPS BENEATH THE TONGUE.

WHEN SHOULD I TAKE A REMEDY?

If you live within 20 miles of a KNOWN terrorist attack via chemical or biological release, you should take the remedy and the antibiotic your medical doctor prescribed SIMULTANEOUSLY. (In the world of homeopathy, traditional medical drugs are usually looked down upon, but in this scenario, we are going to need everything we can bring to the fight, to survive this. Antibiotics are essential in this present event.

WHAT REMEDY DO I TAKE?

Whatever remedy that addresses the particular attack you have just undergone. You must find this out through your Health Department and/or hospital(s), your medical doctor or another government sources, what chemical or biological bacteria, virus or spore was released upon you. For example, Anthrax has been determined to have been flown and released over your area. You would then take the Anthracinum nosode. If it is E-coli, then Botulinum nosode would be needed, and so on. It is IMPERATIVE that you know what was released so you know what to take. Only your HEALTH DEPARTMENT will have that answer. So, call them.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE do you guess and out of panic, decide to pop a homeopathic pellet. Do not do this. Wait and find out. Let the proper officials alert you and others. Call your doctor, too, and see what you can find out.

CHILDREN

Fortunately, most children's vital forces are far better and stronger than an adult's! For them, we recommend a 1M potency. However, if your child is unhealthy (read below), they must take a 30C potency ONLY.

HEALTHY vs. UNHEALTHY

Unfortunately, if you have a disease currently and/or your immune system is suppressed (for example, people with asthma who use a steroid inhalor fall into this category as well), the you must take ONLY a 30C potency of whatever remedy you need.

If you are healthy and do not have a disease currently, then you would take a 10M of whatever nosode remedy was called for. A healthy child (0-17 years old) can take a 1M, instead.

People with compromised immune systems CANNOT take a 10M; it could devastate what little is left of their Vital Force to fight off the attack and then they'd be wide open for the infection. Do not do this. Take ONLY a 30C potency.

HOW MANY PELLETS DO I TAKE?

Technically, you need only ONE pellet popped in your mouth and let it melt away. Do NOT take it with water. You can take it any time. Don't worry about whether you just ate a meal or not. Just take the remedy. You can put it under your tongue if you want, but it's not really necessary.

Most people feel better taking 3-4 pellets at a time; and this is fine, too....but remember, if you have a 2-dram size bottle, and you have a family, then sharing from that bottle is going to take it down rather quickly. This is why we suggest the DILUTION method above....it stretches your remedy and makes it go a lot farther.

DILUTION (fluid) DOSAGE

Assuming your dilution is in a one ounce eye dropper bottle, FOUR drops beneath the tongue is ONE DOSE. Do not rinse your mouth out with water afterward, either. Let the fluid absorb through the walls of your mouth.

HOW OFTEN DO I TAKE MY REMEDY?

Our answer is predicated on how CLOSE you are to the actual 'ground zero' area of the attack.

IF I LIVE FIVE MILES FROM THE ATTACK CENTER

1. Call your homeopath. Follow his/her instructions to the letter. 2. Call your medical doctor and follow his/her instructions on your antibiotic to the letter. 3. If you do not have a homeopath, then the below routine should be considered. DO call your medical doctor about taking your antibiotic SIMULTANEOUSLY right along with your homeopathic remedy.

HEALTHY people: 10M (or 1M for a child) every six hours, every day for 7-10 days OR until you begin to feel dizzy, headache or nausea, then stop taking the remedy--you've had enough. OR until your county disaster officials, fire department, Red Cross, police and/or health department have assured you that it is SAFE. If they say it is safe, then stop taking the remedy before that 7-10 day period.

SOME WARNINGS ABOUT TAKING A HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY THAT IS HIGH POTENCY SO OFTEN AND LONG....

Some people will have a built in "susceptibility" to a particular homeopathic remedy. If they do, they may experience feeling miserable at some point (usually within 2-3 days of taking a high potency so often). If this happens, STOP TAKING IT. Your Vital Force has enough of it and will be as strong as it can under the circumstances. Continue to take your antibiotic (or whatever your doctor advises).

Some people will get an "aggravation" from taking a high potency and this means that present symptoms they have (whatever they are) will be WORSE for awhile; but that should pass fairly quickly (usually in minutes or a couple of hours). WHAT IF I CAN'T TAKE A NOSODE REMEDY? WHAT DO I DO?

If you cannot take the nosode homeopathic remedy, there are 4 other homeopathic remedies listed in each article that may closely fit your symptoms. Look each of these remedies up in the Materia Medica and see which remedy most closely fits the most important of your symptoms and take it, instead (on the same schedule indicated above).

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?

If you find yourself under attack, we suggest Rescue Remedy every 10-15 minutes (4 drops beneath the tongue) to help with your anxiety and panic reactions. Once you settle down, then you can stop taking. After that, take it on an "as needed basis".

We can't stress enough the communication between you and your medical doctor. If things get bad, there is going to be panic, so you need to have your own house in order, have your homeopathic kit, your remedies, and your instructions, as well as phone numbers of your homeopath (if you have one) and your medical doctor. Panic serves no one.

Ellen and I decided that it is better to do something, than nothing. We are sure there will be some homeopaths who will disagree with our choices, potency and dosing. But we hope they will consider this:

1. This is the first time in US history that we have been attacked on our homeland.

2. There is no single homeopathic entity that has made a concerted effort to have a Disaster Plan for the nation's homeopaths, their associations, or for homeopathic study groups to in turn, help their patience or people who are seeking homeopathic treatment. Each homeopath is on their own. Many do not have military training, or service training (firefighter/police/paramedic/EMT), so they are out of the loop information-wise, which may hinder their ability to know what do do.

3. Until that happens, each homeopath is out there, on their own. No homeopath has ever undergone an NBC terrorist attack (nuclear, biological or chemical). So, we are in essence, flying blind.

4. We have derived our protocol from my background in the military, from being a fire fighter and EMT, as well as Ellen's background as a Nurse Practitioner and homeopath. We've done the best we can under some very trying circumstances.

5. We would wish that everyone reading this, please try to get to a homeopath nearest them; this is so crucial. We can't begin to tell you the importance of it. At the same time, we recognize that there are not a lot of homeopaths in the USA, and people are needing some guidelines and suggestions.

6. Everything presented in this article is what Ellen and I will do if we find ourselves under terrorist attack with a chemical or biological weapon. WHERE CAN I GET INFORMATION ON ATTACKS?

Your best resources are your country Disaster Planning department, your fire station and police department. Further, the Health Department is on the front line of defense, and is in direct touch, at all times, with the CDC (Centers for Disease Controls). WHAT ABOUT MY  ANIMALS?

You need to try and contact your veterinarian. Talk to her or him about terrorist assaults. Ask for the appropriate drugs of choice for each type of scenario. Keep these drugs on hand and give them to your pet(s) as directed by your vet.

CAN MY ANIMALS TAKE THE SAME HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY AS I DO?

Yes and no. Pets weight a lot less than us humans; consequently, the potency and dosage would change considerably. There are so many possibilities with this, that it is impossible to cover all possible scenarios. You are best off with your Vet's intervention, information and drug of choice.

We would NOT recommend homeopathic treatment out-of-hand for pets at this time. If you can locate a homeopath, call them and ask if they are willing to treat pets; many are. There are a few homeopathic vets around, but not many and certainly not enough to serve the USA at large. Again, good communication with your vet now, is essential.

STAY CALM AND FOCUSED

Having been in many disasters and events, I can tell you that the best thing you can do is stay calm. Calm and thinking through the panic or anxiety around you.
