Sprouting seeds are a convenient and economical way of
producing your
own tasty vegetables. Kids can help by learning how to "nourish" the
changing
seeds, too. The following suggestions should help increase your harvest
of NOW sprouting seeds.
1- Soak seeds
overnight in lukewarm water and then rinse
clean. Rinse
and drain seeds twice a day leaving them moist in between
rinsings.
2- Avoid extremely
hot or humid conditions. Room temperature
is normally
ideal. Add 1/2 teaspoon citric acid per quart of water to minimize
microbe
count.
3- Be gentle not to
break the tender shoots when moving the
jar.
4- Wait about four
days and enjoy the finest home-grown
sprouts anywhere.
